About the Artist
Mr. Yap Neng Ping, once an active sportsman, became a wheelchair user after a diving accident in 1986. A scholarship holder skilled in painting and programming, he draws inspiration from his 1970s kampong childhood and scenes from his travels, with a special focus on flora. Despite facing multiple ailments, Neng Ping has represented Singapore in international Abilympics with his oil and watercolour paintings. Now working at Bizlink, his art remains a powerful expression of his quest for independence, sufficiency, and freedom—both economic and creative.
